The announcement came during the ‘Made On YouTube’ event on Thursday (21) and aims to simplify and streamline content creation, especially for YouTube Shorts.
With the YouTube Create app, users have access to various editing tools, including precise cuts, automatic transcription, narration features, access to a library of filters, effects, transitions, and royalty-free music.
“YouTube Create was developed to simplify and ease the production of Shorts and longer videos. This allows creators to invest more energy in things they find creatively rewarding. […] We will continue to work with the creator community as we add new features and functionalities,” said YouTube.
According to the company, YouTube Create is available for free download in Beta version for Android devices in some ‘selected markets,’ which include the United States, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, India, Korea, and Singapore. Additionally, YouTube plans to release the app for iOS devices in 2024.
